Goodbye Kingsport, TN & Hello Hartwell, GA

After Thanksgiving we travelled down to Hartwell, GA and spent a few days with John Griffin and some of the relatives from the Kratzer Family.

Lake Hartwell  is down eight feet from the lack of rain and on Saturday we repositioned the dock to deeper water. It was a team effort of several families working together.

First step was to adjust the guide wires to move the boat landing.

John Griffin took charge of the winch and recruited the workers.

He positioned the workers (female) and support staff (male) properly. It almost looked like road construction.

Suzanne was elected straw boss and applauded everyone's effort.

Thanksgiving 2012

Nice Thanksgiving with nice weather

Start of eleven day trip

We left November 16 for Kingsport, TN. We volunteered to be monitors for a musical instrument judging at Tanner and Taylor's school on November 17th. We logged in the students and made sure they had an orderly chance to demonstrate their skills to the judges.

A good picture stands the test of time

This picture was taken on November 6, 2008 and published this month in the "Lake Arrowhead Environs" monthly magazine for November 2012. I submitted eight pictures and they selected this one. You can click on the picture to get a nice view of the colors.

Here is the magazine pictures:

Therapy Graduation

Martha and Claire finished the last week of sessions for me. Martha today and Claire on Tuesday. I met a lot of people since starting August 22 and you find a lot of different types of hurting people.

My last session today I met a woman whose husband worked for Exxon in Houston and they lived in Spring, TX. Their son graduated from Texas Tech.

Martha (first picture) and Claire were the two occupational therapist at the clinic.

When I first started my thumb could not reach the tip of my baby finger.
